Edwards Wins Single Wicket

Tuesday March 9, 2010

Premier team all-rounder Lee Edwards won the second Karori Cricker Club single wicket competition of the season and keeps the Alan Graham Tankard for the winter.  The tourney was part of the KCC's Legends Day.

In the single wicket, 32 players are drawn at random into pairs.  Each pair then bat and bowl for a single over, the winner going into the next round.  Losers hang around to act as the six fielders.

In the semi final Lee beat Simon Baker 14 - 10, while Adam Eggleton of the Karori Wildcats beat Jono Sole 18 - 11.  Lee beat Adam in the final after Lee skittled Adam and needed only six to win.  Jono with 22 had the best score of the day.

Thanks to Jim Glynan for umpiring and all those who organised the day and ran the barbecue.
