Karori Cricket Club ::

KCC v University at Karori Park 14th November

University won the Hazlette trophy last season and returned Karori Park for the first time in many seasons.

Karori won the toss and elected to bat, and this proved to be the correct choice with KCC on 60 for 0 after ten overs. Stephen Murdoch and Marc Ellison were batting superbly until Stove got out in the only likely way, run out due to an injured hammy for a fine 41. Marc went on to a well constructed 69, however Hamish Templeton was to out do everyone. Hamish scored his maiden century (121 off about 109) for KCC and set up a demanding score of 278 for 6 for University to chase. Hamishs century was boisterously celebrated by his teammates and spectators alike, we hope he goes on to many more.

In reply University were never really in the chase despite some good resistance by Colin Owen who top scored with 60. All of the bowlers chipped in with the pick being Jarred Sewel who is starting to get back to top form and Sunnie Chan. A couple of well executed run outs from Harry and Steve proved to be the final nail in the coffin, and the chase ended on 209.

Man of the Match Hamish Templeton.
