vs Easts Demons
Class Act.
K'Town Horny Horses thrashed Easts in a hugely satisfying game on K
Park Number 2. Winning the toss, we chose to bowl on a good looking
pitch, with everyone looking forward to playing on a pitch with some
bounce. Again the victory was a team effort, the wickets were shared
around, and again we chased down a low score with plenty of overs and
wickets in hand.
Last year Nick VH looked solid in getting a 50 against us, so for Tony
to get him caught behind in the 2nd over was a great start. It also
shut him up for a while. Again Hoggy created difficulties bowling
first change, and picked up a double wicket maiden, his 2 over spell
reading 2-2-0-2, before his second spell blew those figures out to
3-2-11-2. Suj moved the ball viciously at times, and had a chance at a
hattrick after picking up another big scalp first ball. Special
mention must also be made of Dave Allan who tied down, then bowled,
their big slogger, who could of blown their score out if he had hung
around for a few more overs.
Again the fielding was excellent, the only drop a caught and bowled
chance (the skip again), and in particular good catches taken by Ash,
Phil G and Dan.
Ash (The Wall) and Mupp again frustrated the opening bowlers, and put
on a very solid 40 run partership, before Muppet was unlucky to have
the ball caught on mid ons body. The shot broke his bat, although he
was the first player in the team to get to 30 this season. Dan at
three and Phil at four also had a good partnership before a mix up saw
Dan run out. Thor hit a few boundaries to close in on the target,
before Phil and Sam finished it off by whacking the part timers around
to seal the victory by 6 wickets with more than 15 overs to spare.
