Karori Cricket Club :: Senior 2c Results

Season review 2005-2006

Karori 2D enjoyed a very good 2005/2006 cricket season. There were alot of newcomers to the team that have now made the Karori Cricket Club their "cricketing" home. The core team reamained stable throughout the year which contributed to the excellent results recorded.

Of all the one day games, only two were lost to Onslow and University respectively with all the other one dayers won realtively easily. The one day highlight of the season was in the second game of the season, against Brooklyn A where Karori put on 196 runs batting first on a low and slow Ian Galloway wikcket, and proceeded to bowl Brooklyn out for 45. Most notable figures in the scorecard was Shaun Murray's valuable 42 and Martyn Brace's bowling figures of 3-17-6

In the 2 day form of the game, no games were lost, with 3 draws and 4 wins.
The two day highlight was the last game of the season against Brooklyn B. Brooklyn elected to bat first and were all out for 164. The best bowling figures went to opening bowler Dan Murray, with 3-10-10. Karori then replied with 326 for 6 from 45 overs. Opening batsmen Dan Comber (77) and James McDonald (116 not out) dominated the opposition bowling. Brooklyn B were then bowled out on the second day for 134. Best bowling was again Dan Murray with 3-33-8. Karori won by an innings and 27 runs.

It is important to note that all the players contributed at key times during the games when required, making the 05/06 season very productive.
